Tokyo: On Sunday in Japan, a man dressed as Batman’s comic character was attacked with a knife, injuring 17 people on a train. Not only this, but he also set the fire there. There was panic there, and people started running to save their lives, and some even jumped from the windows. The 24-year-old assailant was arrested from the spot, police said. The attack took place in the evening when many people were on their way to attend the Halloween festival. The condition of a 60-year-old man is critical in the incident.

According to local media reports, the attacker says that he did this to be given the death penalty. At the same time, eyewitnesses said, the train was about to leave from Kokuryo station, and the doors were closed. Then the sound of screaming of people started coming, and some injured people came out running. After a while, the compartment caught fire.

People came out of the windows to escape from the fire.

Kyodo News reported that the man carrying the knife had spread hydrochloric acid around the train. The police got information about the person who wielded the knife around 8 pm. Tokyo police officials said the attack took place inside a Keio train near Kokuryo Station. A video posted on Twitter showed people climbing out of windows to avoid a Keio Line train at a station. The incident took place around 8 pm with the polling in the country’s general elections being closed. Train company officials could not reach immediately after the incident.
